Story Map

The Recentii explore the SP's inner sanctum, trigger a Cicero flashback, and are cornered by Marcus Maecenas as reinforcements arrive; Tertius and Callista join the fight while Callista works a Greek door mechanism and Sinistrus's arrival throws everything into chaos. Passing alone through the sealed door, the Recentii reach the final chamber and the fading ghost of Sextus, whose scarce final moments enact the mission's thesis that the Lapis is not a thing but knowledge, closing Act 1 in the desert at dawn.
